the PS3 is meant to be your entire entertainment center, which i find a little absurd when
1) there are NO GAMES worth playing...yet
2) blue-ray sucks. there, i said it.
3) it can dl movies?! awesome!
4) the PS3 is shaped like a grill
5) it has a hardrive like the XB 360, etc. etc.
6) web browsing? oh jesus. better than the wii's?!
7) a PS3 costs $500-600, that's a lot for something so ugly with spider man 2 font.
and i actually HAVE a PS3. i waited days for one, and guess what? i actually bought it and didn't sell it on eBay...because i support Sony--regardless of how pathetic the PS3 launch was--but you gotta admit, Nintendo pretty much killed Sony at retail, reason being Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sony said the PS3 was going to outdo PS2 in every possible way. what? ffxii and god of war 2? hello?? most people can't get their hands on a PS3, so they have 10x more games going unsold. Nintendo keeps selling and selling....
I predict the Wii just a bit behind XB360. the PS3 will crumble, even if FFXIII is released right this second, will that change the fact that, i don't know, 50% of people can't get one? if they released a million more units, do you think people will buy them all up to play Ridge Racer? nope. right now i see nothing but black for them. that really is bad news for Sony. 360 will rule with Halo 3, the obv. Gear Of War 2, etc. and you all know it. and what about Fable 2? it's over. and i hate XB.
the Wii has NOTHING. SSBB, a new pokemon game, a new mario game, a new metroid game...can you say GC all over again? Nintendo already sold 3x more Wiis because of Sony's big blunder at debut...enough for them to stay alive and release their almost perfect first party software--even though it lacks amazing first-person shooters and great stuff like XB Live--and crush Sony to the ground with all the fanboys. my god, the fanboys. Sony has Ratchet & Clank, Jak, Sly Cooper--the best platformers PERIOD. maybe Sony will get a second wind, but right now they look pretty crap, like Sony's take on Nintendo's Virtual Boy, but--gasp!--at least you can actually play a PS3.
lastly, the ds to wii connectivity will probably only be a gimmicky mess like the gba to gc connectivity was. as soon as you can dl FFVII on a PSP, PSPs will fly off shelves, regardless of how bad PSP is, having only 2 good games in MGS: Portable Ops and Lumines...a launch title.
