Default Star Ocean????

Okies, my mum was given Star Ocean- the end of time, or whatever it's called, for her birthday. She put it on, to find that immediately she was not impressed with the game, graphics, voices and all.

Now I'm not the kind of person to let a game go, unless it is definitely not a winner. So I wondered if anyone else had played this seemingly monstrous game and if they could tell me whether to put my repulsion aside and try it out.

Actually this is a very good game. The plot is a bit weird, and I believe that sometimes, the combat system is a bit awkward-but it is very fun, and one gets used to it. As well, this game is fun if you enjoy countless amounts of things to do, achieve or collect. It never ends.

Although the graphics may not be the best thing ever, they are still very decent. I would not give up this game-it offers quite much.

Hmmm, Ok I'll convince my mum to give it another shot. I'm against selling games that were presents anyway (will be reminding her that it was a gift from her favourite child, not me), so I shall give it a blast!

There's a reason it's called till the end of time, because it never ends. There are countless thing to do in this game and you can reach up to level 255. The side dugeons are long and troublesome, but so much fun. The characters are great and the graphics are pretty good for the CG cutscenes for when the game came out. The voice acting is kinda annoying. There is tons of replay value because there are many MANY different endings. The fighting system is fun, especially when you can link move from move until you start doing 300% damage. Ahh I love sidekick. That's the move you can do it with. The battles and the damage you do in them get ridiculously high and it can be alot of fun. Don't like fighting? Well then you can do alchemy, make your own weapons and items, matter of fact you need to if you want the ultimate weapons to actually be ultimate. The game has no bounds and there is so much you can do in it, along with a weird weird storyline to follow. The only downfall of this game is that the beginning is WAAAAY to long and boring. 2 hours of doing barley anything. But that's made up for later.

If you want a real good game play Star Ocean: The second story for the original playstation. It's old, but has an amazing story and over 80 different endings. It's just so huge and expansive.one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah. I rented SO: End of Time twice, and in all that time I couldn't figure out how to get past the beginning. Even strategy guides didn't help. Buit if it's half as good as it's supposed to be, I would suiggest you keep it.

I thought SO:TTEOT was a very good game (well, the first half anyway). The voices are shoddy, I do wish they had included a Japanese track. If the graphics seem dated, that's because it took FOREVER for the game to get here (US) and longer for the the UK. It's really sort of in the 2nd generation of PS2 titles, which makes it fairly old as far as that console goes.

That aside, I don't think it's as good as SO:Second Story, but it's still a very good game in its own right, particularly the first half. The moods the game manages to set with the future meets war-torn past story arc are still good (a story arc originally done in Chrono Trigger and carried on Star Ocean: Second Story).

Gosh, didn't realise this game would get such a good response!! Maybe I should just try again with it, once I've got all my other stuff out of the way.

Best bet is to get the guide too, because every response you make in the game depends on how much your party trusts you and in turn how effectively they battle.

Where about in the UK you live?

I own the game and it is very fun. my favorite part of it though was the creation system. though it is a bit hard to understand at first, it becomes more and more fun as time goes on and it is also a good way of getting a lot of stuff CHEAP. and competing to be the best creator really forces me to act with this. my competiveness forces me to do the best I can!
