RPG of 2007!
Well, I was to make a poll, however, perhaps there are too many games to include in just one poll...so, this might be fun. Which role playing game do you think was the best success of 2007? Success can mean anything...how much profit it made, or simply, which one was more fun.
State and explain.

Sadly I'll be unable to answer this question until I play Persona 3 (which I should be getting in the mail from GameFly tomorrow).
Unfortunately, I think 2007 has SUCKED as far as RPG's go. I don't have an XBox360, so I never got my hands on either Blue Dragon or Eternal Sonata, though I will be able to touch ES sometime in '08.

No, it was not the best year at all...many role playing games did come out, however most were of mediocre nature, and dare I say, poor quality.
The only title I can actually think of right now is Jeanne D'Arc for the PSP. While it really did not offer much of anything new or innovative to the SRPG genre, it did, immensely at that, remind me of why I started playing role playing games in the first place.

I would say FFXII was great, albeit a love-it-or-hate-it kind of game

best rpg of the year is mass effect, well if you'd call it an rpg. It was a first person shooter rpg...yeah. There weren't many good ones in 2007. Oblivion came out in 06'. The second and third .hack//GU games were good.

Mass Effect was Ok, I watched my brother play it and he was pretty hooked. It was cool how you could have so much input into the character's personality both at the beginning and throughout the game. Good storyline too.

As far as 2007 goes, perhaps I should have made this thread about which ports and re-releases were the best...

not many good ports and re-releases because FF3 came out in 06, same as FF12. umm, I really can't think of any, some good ones for the psp, I guess The legend of Zelda: The phantom hour glass was really really good even though it isn't a full rpg.
Lunar nights for the ds was a good one, based off the boktai series. God not many others.
