Oh yes, the PocketStation... I wanted one of those two, I almost bought one on eBay, but it was uber expensive. And yes, the item you can get from the chocobo game is called a 'Friendship' item, and can be transfered to FFVIII and used in battle to summon a... *trumpet fanfare* MOOMBA!
Because I like to collect everything I so wanted to add the Friendship item to my collection, but I just could not justify the expense for this one item... but at least we can still view it on youtube:
