There seems to be quite the media campaign for the upcoming Ninja Gaiden game, as I've seen posters for it all over the place. And, although it is not the usual kind of game that I play, I have to admit that it does indeed look SWEET!
This is a game series that I have not kept up on, but I remember playing the original Ninja Gaiden games for the original Nintendo back in the 80s (Uh oh, I am once again showing my age, haha :P). They were great games, and, as you describe Neo, they were amongst some of the most challenging games available at the time (especially the second one, my god). So I would not be surprised if the rumours regarding the challenge were indeed true. Tecmo, the original game developer which created the NG games, I think were amongst the first to create truly adult specific video games which catered to more adult themes and feature heavy violence (even though in the 8-bit genre this was usually conveyed as goofy little exploding bodies).
I will picking up a PS3 soon for reasons that I'm sure everyone here are very much aware *cough cough FFXIII*, but perhaps the new Ninja Gaiden game will be a game also worth checking out. After all, I have always loved ninjas and marital arts stories.
