The World Ends With You
Is perhaps one of the greatest DS games I've ever played. Ever. It's got an amazing storyline, an amazing soundtrack, amazing characters, amazing artwork, amazing gameplay; It's just all around amazing (in case you have yet to realize. :P)
At first I was reluctant about getting it, but now I'm greatful.
Thoughts on it?

Sounds good. Not what I was thinking of, but it seems like a combination of another game and a television show, both of which I liked.

I haven't played it yet but I have the soundtrack and it's not half bad. The only thing I can really say is I heard it's really "innovative" and some of the character designs are absolutely terrible...though I haven't even seen any besides blurry DS screens in EGM.
The battle system - simple or complex?

Complex at first, but easy to master.
And the character designs? I thought they were great...

I just took a look, I don't know why everyone is complaining about this:
It's definitely not as "emo" as people claim it is.

Okay now I have not played the game yet but try as much as I can that sound track is just to over the top for me. It does for sure go with the "new" game and different type of gameplay Square is trying to do but.. I doubt I will ever add the music to my library at the station. Unless.. of course they make Piano or Orchestra version which they did for Dirge and it was great to listen to then.
