I'm a dude and I died the top of my hair blonde before... stopped doing that. I also stopped wearing hats all the time because it supposedly makes you go bald when you're older

Well yes...your hair breathes by its root, and if the whole hair is to always be covered, it gets no oxygen.

I shall let you imagine the circumstences after such prolonged treatement.

The first post I put in here..I mentioned dogs.

Well today, I was walking to work, and this dog on a porch saw me and started barking. I got really scared, and it got up. I saw it had no leash, so I kind of started to freak out.
It was up and growling,..if it is true that dogs smell fear, I decided it was going to pounce on me or something. So, instead of running, I took all the courage I had and stopped in front of it, and tried to give it the most heinous look I could muster.

It was growling, and it never came for me. I never stayed in front of it that long, and walked away, with it barking behind me..but it stayed where it was.

I would like to think I was able to scare it, but truth is, no matter what I would have done, I am guessing it would never have done anything then what it did, to warn me not to get too close to the house. It was not afraid of my look if it even noticed it...

And for once, I thought I was being brave..meeeh..

Not only do dogs scare me, but they mock me as well..

Dogs can't smell fear. The dog is never evil, it's what the owner does to it. All dogs are innocent until a harsh owner turns them into a beast.

As for being afraid of the dogs, often people who are afraid run away from dogs who are growling from the excitement of seeing you. This, in turn, often makes a dog think you are playing with it [unless it's an atack dog] so it chases after you just to have fun. That only makes it seem scarier for the person being chased. I'm used to dogs and whenever one runs up to me, I let it, unless i know I shouldn't, and they usually just like to lick you and jump around

Well, when a dog runs towards me, I cannot help but run, as idiotic as it may look...but I did not run from this one, although it seemed pretty angry.

So dogs cannot smell fear? But this is what everyone always tells me...

Yes, I realize a dog may end up a certain way depending on how the owner treats them, but for me, dogs are all the same..maybe I do not understand them enough, if at all.

All dogs are sweet at heart, or at least most. Unlike humans, they could never betray you, hate you, lie to you, etc. Plus, how could they smell fear if it's an emotion? They might be able to sense when you're happy or sad, as my dog does, which is why they make such great companions. What made you so afraid of dogs?

I hate dogs two years ago i had to kill a dog that attacked me it was horrific it just kept attacking me and my girlfriend of the time and when it started really biting not just growling the owner was screaming i was muderer the dog was innocent i still have a scar on my chest from where it scratched me the bites have faded though i had to have bloody jabs stay overnight in hospital and they suggested i see a shrink for the trauma thats prehaps the most horrible thing ive ever had to do and its a bloody dogs fault
Still even when i was younger i got bit by a small dog so i mistrust them mans best friend my ass i was afraid of them till i was about 10 then i didnt like them and now its a keep away from me cause far as ime concered there all viscious threats irrespective of behaviour above the knee dogs need to be kept leashed when out at all times

oh so what i was going to say was no not all dogs are sweet at heart yes they could betay you and all dogs seem to hate me they growl and raise there hackles when i pass so thats a yes on the hating and trust me its not fear they smell its indecision if i hadnt hesitated in attacking that dog then i wouldnt of got so hurt dogs are hunting animals at heart they try to instill fear to lead to indescion so when they pounce they can tear your throat out

Well, I cannot really say...it is a fear.

Like you said, dogs may like to play with you, and scare you in doing it. Well it happened to me all the time when I was young. They always came chasing after me, and I ran..I never got bit once, probably because they were not going to..I am guessing if the dog would wish to harm me, it would have no trouble catching a little girl. But if one ever did, I always managed to escape.

I am not saying they traumatized me and installed this fear in me, because if none had chased me, I would still fear them. And I know not why.

They do not look scary or anything..

Hm..but if dogs can know when you are happy or sad, then why could they not know when you are afraid? But then, if they sensed your fear, why would they attack you?

People keep telling me I should get a dog, so I would not be so scared of them. I am telling you, it is ridiculous. I cross the street when I see one, even if it is on a leash.

It's like with sharks. People say they sense your fear, but it's bull. What they sense is your thrashing aroound in a paniced frenzy, which catches their attention even more.

Are you afraid of puppies? It would be good to get would so that it slowly became a dog and you could adjust to it.... actually puppies are a lot more hyperactive and, because of their teething, they chew on EVERYTHING.... including you, but in a friendly manner
