Pros/Cons of School
I just needed to talke about this. School has many things that kids, even teachers, dislike about it. Such as the fact you're cooped up inside, listening to lectures, having to do work, and many other things that I would need ten more pages for writing them all. When the time comes for summer, we're filled with happiness, knowing we can hang with friends, play outside all day, and not having to worry about homework.
But, when I really thought about it, there are things that I have to say are GOOD about going back to school, other than the fact of getting an education and meeting up with friends. I was very bored most of the time in summer since most of my friends were usually unavailable. I was too hot, and nothing help kill time during the day. School kills most of the time during the day in which we probably did nothing.
So thats why I think that going back to school has many pros and many cons. Please discuss your ideas here...

School is training wheels for society.
We all learn what it is we must about the basics, but not only of academic value, but of social ones as well.
Weather some deny it or realize it, I believe this to be true.
Now that I am in the world of work, I bloody loathe the corridors and ideals built and imposed upon my person, and so I loathe the trickery I was led to while in school.
But what am I going to do, go live in the woods like a hermit?
More then anything though, I hate the fact that this is how we must live, and have no chance, ever, to pursue our happiness, for we muct follow a dictated path to serve society and those ruling it. Of course, we all form society, but it remains some of us are lead by others, to put it simply..but perhaps there is no happiness to find..
In any case, this bind of sorrow starts with school, and those are my thoughts on it.
Of course I do realize that this is not really what the thread asked for, but since the system wants me to be so closed minded, I will do it, just not how it was intended....uh..I need to go to sleep..

Its true that we must do our jobs and help society dictated by our choice in college, but if we do not work, and follow the unavoidable road, we would become lazy, irresponsible, and mostly bored.
Government has decided our path, true, but we can follow any path we want as long as we are hopeful. But being a wanderer or traveler isnt the answer. It just proves that you were never determined enough to make your own path and let others follow. Just because we must be dictated to help society, doesnt mean we can't make the best of it.

Doing all the work is healthy and stimulates the mind!!... it's just when the workload becomes an overload that it gets frustrating -_-;;

You may very well be right. Which is why I often wonder if the only happiness I shall ever know is drinking my coffee in the morning...

Hopeful of what?
Sure, I agree we can follow whatever path we decide to take, but as long as this chosen path is found respectable by society's standards. Even school teaches us that.
Of course, becoming a murderer or a hermit may not be the answer, so I take it we truly have no choice.

I think it does the contrary.
Routine stagnates the mind, doing the same things over and over hands one over to a certain mentality, one that society deems acceptable for its own benefit.
Over the years...routine will render one a fool..why do you think old folk always tell the same stories over and over?
Because it is the only exploits they have found to be proud of, the only great things they have done on this one way path which they can cling to.
But, it is an opinion, or rather how I feel every day of my life. I suppose it is rather subjective to each person though. Many takes may be different.
But I suppose there is no answer, but I often wonder if I would be happier living on the streets, with nothing to call my own but freedom..I suppose I would not like it. So what to do?
Wait, I said I would stop bitching and going off topic..besides, we ARE society, so it is not evveryone against one person...sorry, sorry..

This is going way off I thought it would...
We can have a path we must follow, the road dicytated by society, and still make our own road. We must accomplish to recieve, and the only way to accomplish is by taking your own feet and walking along the new trail, and end at your destination.
That was a wierd metaphor, but think about it...

think about this
we all grow up to die
you don't grow up to become a teacher or a firefighter
you grow up to die
that is what we are ment for
that is all that we can do
you can not stop it
and you can not deny it
the things we do each day
that what makes us diffternet
if you chose do the same thing
each day
then that is what
you chose to do

Yes I agree with you on the monotony of the daily routine. But the work I'm referring to is not just the work in school. Extracuricular stuff. I'm trying new things each year and the subjects I learn inschool are expanding so each year is entirely different than the last except for the fact that I'm in the same school lol

When I was in school, I did all the things I had too, but never nothing more.
So it left me more time for my part time job. Bleh.
But you are indeed right, diversity is always a good thing.
