What Churns your Stomach?

Indeed, a general chit chat thread...

So, what things gross you out? I mean, what really gives you shivers, a blot in your throat, and nightmares when you think of it too much?

Before I had discovered video games, I used to love insects. They were, to say the least, my passion. So I was not afraid of them, and I enjoyed picking them up and everything. I would look everywhere to find them; under rocks, logs, in tall grasses, and whatever I found, I caught them...weather I knew it had a means of defense or not.
(One may learn many lessons that way...)

So to this day, I remain used to insects, and I never freak out when one is crawling or buzzing around, weather it is a harmless butterfly, moth or some evil looking wasp, yellow-jacket or ninja looking thing. (Sometimes, only sometimes, I can still name them. )

However, one thing I have never been able to get used to, and no doubt never will...worms.

Eew. ONE worm is not so bad...but even then, just observing it as it moves sends shivers down my spine. What makes me dance on the brink of insanity should I come across such a thing, is a pile, swarm or colony of worms!
And I do not care what kind it is. A maggot, an earthworm, whatever sort it is...*Gags.*

EEEEEW!! I cannot stand them...caterpillars are not so bad, and I used to take them, look inside books to see which kind it was so that I could give it the proper nourishment it usually eats, and have it turn into a butterfly...that always seemed so fun, and magical...(Aside from when some nasty wasp had gotten upon the caterpillar prior to my finding it, laid its eggs on or in it, and then I had a wasp, or several wasp larva emerging out of the cocoon instead of a butterfly.) but whenever I would come across a batch of cankerworms or caterpillars which remain in groups, the magic was quickly dispelled.
Worms, I must admit, almost frighten me.

So, a spider crawling out of my bathtub does not scare me, nor does a huge flying beetle or any such thing...but I do not want any worms!! When I die, I wish to be incinerated, for I do not want to be eaten by worms. They are just too gross.

what I think is gross?
well I watched fear factor for a long time and some other stuff happend so my gross limit is a lot vaguer than with other people
I don't think I know anything I would lable "gross"
well thhere is one thing.
Me and some friends of mine once found a half rotten dead guy in a old house we kinda ehm how do you call it.
well the house was from nobody and we just entered
but I swear none of us didn't puke.
he died a natural dead btw.
but I guess that half rotting dead guys are the only thing I lable as "gross"

As for me I'm not afraid of bugs but when they are crawling up my arm or something and I don't realize it and when i do I freak but if they arn't around me I'm cool. Especially spiders things are cool to look at but when they move towards me i freak little big or in the middle I just don't want to get bit. OK so i'm a slight arachnaphobe but only a little.

Also I have this thing with the dark. It aint the dark that freaks me out its what happens in the dark or what is in the dark...Swear to god I heard some movement out in the hallway outside my bedroom and I looked away from the door blankets were over my head and my heart was racing... I have a phobia with amusment park rides breaking down since I watched Final Destination 3 but thats just normal idnt it...

Those are fears what churns my stomach is the sounds of bones cracking. Not like knuckle snapping cuz i can stand that its the sounds of bones breaking...I cannot watch Scarred on MTV because the injuries the breaking bones. it all makes me want to blow chunks...Another things that is disgusting is spitting lugees. Not regular spit i'm talking mucus and spit *gags a bit* If it gets too bad I'll end up puking. One time my friend went to spit a mucus fill lugee and i gaged because it was gross. He realized that if he continued I might puke...Well he did and it wasn't maybe the third lugee i ended up puking...Then another time just for shits and gigles he tried to make me puke again just playing in his regular spit which didn't bother me much...Until I went to clear my throat and some phlegm came up and that ended up making me puke...a lot...

man it's your lucky day
first of all: spiders
they are a little twist of nature
they are the most interresting critter on 8 legs
note: 87% of all spiders is not lethal too humans
and 89% of those lethal spiders live in the rain forest
the rest of them are spread all over the world especially in desserts and the savanna
only 1% of all lethal spiders or less can be found in populated area's and than most of them are kept as pets

second of all: the darkness
I've been there
I've been afraid of it for 10 years

You must know: the most scary things on this planet are in the light
the darkness isn't really such a bad thing
just remember: the darkness may be a good place for things to hide in but you can hide in it just as good.
I faced my fear for darkness and I lived it
ok too the point now: darkness is one of the most common fears but also one of the most irrational ones.
The only things there are more in darkness there are more in darkness than light are animals.
like rats and owls and stuff.
But remember: you are safe in your house because nobody is coming in your house just to get you (except when you are a criminal ofcourse)

than last but not least: amusement park breakdowns
another fact: the lifespan of an amusement park ride is about 20 years
they get check ups every year
the most breakdowns happen in new rides and than they are or electrical difficulties or mis-calculations
But to be honest: most rides never break down in their lifetime because they are checked up regularly and they are built by people who know what they are doind
It is safer to ride a ride in an amusement park than traveling with public transfer

Spiders. I once had spiders seal egg sacs in my skin, over my collarbone, and nearly had a heart attack when they hatched. Now I can't move except to mumble "kill it" when I see a spider, My phobia about things touching my neck has been seriously compoiunded, and I occasionally have mild panic attacks if a bug I can't confirm as "not a spider" is crawling on my skin.

And food with air bubbles, that can rot or mold from the inside out.

Its not fear as it is more paranoya...I don't give 2 cents about a spider I just don't want one on me or biting me lethal or not. It just feals weird when they crawl on your bare skin and it jumps me to the point of a panic attack...Wait you had spiders lay eggs in you....lol thats funny but sucks too and is weird..

As for the dark the fear is contributed to by slasher flicks...It really started with this movie I never saw but we own it and the cover with the slasher on it was kinda scary when your in second grade. And to clear the air slasher movies don't scare me as more of if i'm in the mood to actually watch them if not i can't stand to watch them. And if i'm not in the mood and watch them I have the fear they will appear in my bedroom and kill me why...because they kill you without warning or a care of who ya are... I actuallly slept with a night light for a few years of my life but it ended up hurting my sleeping so i took it out so i sleep in the dark...I guess i'm a little more jumpy in the dark than in the light If i'm alone but with friends or whatever its not so bad and just like the light but i can't see.

So in other words i'm a very paranoyd bastard and is a serious pesimist that definatly sees the bad in things and the life ending possiblities. but this isn't fears it what churns your stomach...which is lugees, bones breaking, and people who chew with their mouths open. So yeah Firesnake for trying to help ease the fears but i'm still gonna be paranoyed about it.

I have experience with that
I've broken 46 of my bones and broken some ribs of somebody else (the only time I got angry)
but believe me a decomposing human is the most gross thing you'll ever see

Oh, yeah. Spiders do churn my stomach, but it's falling that actually makes me feel physically ill. Not heights, and nota fear of falling, or of landing, it's just the act of falling makes me severely nauseous. Misunderstood the exact purpose of the thread. But food with air bubbles, or the possibility of uncooked flour, that can mould or rot or develop weevils from the inside out, just thinking about it does make me feel ill too.

You sure the act of falling causing nausea isn't really adrenaline...Cuz I jumped off a bridge one time into a river and before jumping i started feeling nauseous and realized I had an adrenaline rush while falling and then hitting the water I felt great...but thats just me.

Talking about reproductive organs and STD's makes my stomach churn. I had nearly fainted in my health class once talking about this stuff. I can talk about it normally as long as it's not scientific with words like the cervix and eggs and falopian tubes.
