I was 17 yrs. old. It was my birthday. I was so happy to finally turn 18. Me and my ex went out to dinner and came home. Then she went into labor. My daughter was born the next day. She stole my heart the moment I seen her. (after the doctor woke me up from almost passing out).
I vowed to never leave her because I grew up without a father and wanted better for my daughter.
My ex turned into a drug addict and left me one day. After cheating on me several times and me providing for her while she did nothing.
I raised my little girl by myself from the age of two until I met my wife. I have been married seven years and love it. It was lonely and hard raising a girl by myself but I wouldn't trade her for the world. Being single with a kid is weird but you develop a bond with your child like no other. Hang in there Miss V!! Your doing the right thing.

Gosh, that's terrible, and yet things have turned out so well for you. Although it hurts to think that you would be alone in wanting to care for your daughter, you saw it through and she has a dad she can really rely on. I'm not sure if I'll meet another person, but certainly my son will always come first. That's really inspired me dude, I'm not alone in how I feel.
It's weird remembering when Jonny was born, so many mixed emotions. I was incredibly scared, even though my mum was there, I knew she wouldn't be able to help me that much, it would all be on my shoulders. But when they brought him to me his eyes were already open, that image will never leave my mind.
I just hope I can live up to my own expectations and be a good parent

Hey kiddo, I’m glad to read that you continue to prove that you have a strong head on your shoulders. I realize that I myself will never fully understand the experience of raising a child alone as a young adult (mostly because I’ve, well, grown past that stage in life I suppose), but I know it is a very challenging experience for anyone in your position. I’m not about to shed any advise… but I can certainly offer you my most humble opinion. I’d say you’re doing a great job as a mommy Miss Lockheart; you're doing everything right that you can. I love reading about Johnny, you’re posts just seem to shine twice as bright whenever his name is mentioned in one.
And always know that although we do not know you in person, we all here in the forum are always here for you whenever we can. Afterall, if I didn’t have you, who would carry around my robotic cat body when war with Firesnake breaks out?!!! Anything for my partner in crime.
For all your hard work, please accept some MidgarFanatic muffins, the first and only batch that will ever be made, you deserve them… enjoy.

*gets choked up* gosh, I'm finally rendered speechless....
It's good to know I have such awesome friends here on the forum. When I first joined here I really wasn't expecting so much, but you've really welcomed me here and I couldn't be so at home anywhere else.
And now that I have my own internet connection (I finally told my brother where he can stick his broadband ), I can hopefully be there for every one of you too. I still have many places to carry you, cat!! Many more adventures to come. I shall put these muffins in a special place in my treasure box!!^^
I just hope if anyone does have a problem then they won't be shy about it, I'll try and help as much as I can, it's the least I can do for everyone's kindness.
Now I'm going to get back to business as usual. I'm setting up an MSN account which I'll announce later on, so I can take my Modding duties seriously. If this place gets all fired up then I'll be in rank and file ready to kick ass!!!
