In Canada, Christmas also means it's time to break out the liquor. Everyone drinks a lot of spirits (especially rum and vodka), and of course there's a lot of beer. And Canadians always drink white wine with turkey dinner, and lots of red wine afterwards. Oh, and we also use the occasion of the holidays to splurge on things which we don't normally have, like liqueurs. Some people like Kahlua but my personal favorite is Bailey's.

I think everyone drinks during the holidays because we're all getting so stressed out and many of us are depressed. LOL... isn't that a terribly un-optimistic way of looking at this fun old time of year.

It certainly is!

Baileys is one of my Christmas favourites too, and amaretto. We drink white wine with the turkey here aswell, and mulled wine is Christmas Eve tipple. All things that we barely see any other time of year.

I'm a fun drunk, but really only at Christmas, that's the only time of year I get the chance. It is stressful, especially the lead-up to Christmas with all the rushing around, spending money and going crazy when Roary the Racing Car is out of stock

It's intresting how different parts of the world have different traditions. I have no idea what the hell mulled wine is. LOL, I've never seen that before or tasted it and I doubt many of my friends have either. Sounds like something they drank in the middle ages. :P

Another treat we sometimes have is rum and egg-nog. I don't like it, but it's popular with everyone else. Yuck.
