That sucks, you missed out because you were sick. My dad's been really not so well lately and he's decided not to put any decorations up in his house, which I was really shocked about.

I also can't believe that in my sister's school they've been banned from decorating the classrooms. It's because of respect for others who don't celebrate Christmas, which could lead me on to another big rant but I think I'll just pass.

Got to keep the spirits high, and hope you're well now Tidus!

I had thought of putting up some Christmas lights...I used to have some in my bedroom all year 'round, and used those as light.

I wanted to put some up this year, but meh. But seeing as I have no real reason NOT to do it, perhaps I should, after all.

I have the same situation. My parents don't like decorations at all.
In Ukrain on Christmas we drink realy much. But I am not one of those drinkers. I like wine a little, and I hate vodka

P.S. Nice new avatar=)

Thankyou

I can't help it I love decorations. This year I've used some slightly more traditional ones, like simple candles and my ivy plants, and my wreath has cinnamon sticks which are protective as well as looking festive. I was going to do a white thing with my tree, and though one or two of the decorations on it are white, most of them are more kindof pearly and see-through.

It's good that you don't go overboard with the alcohol. I like drinks, but I rarely get too drunk, just tipsy enough to play the Wii

If my dad gets here before christmas (Christmas money+birthday money+saved money=Wii), I shall try to bring it to christmas and see if I can get some of my extended family away from "24 hours of A Chrismas Story" long enough to play.
But, today... We decorate! Or at least we're supposed to. My mom's in charge of decorating, but it's already 1:20 and nothing's up. (And miss Valentine: The cinnamon stick idea sounds cool. If not for allergic sister, that is )

Yeah that's a shame. The sticks I've used are pretty huge aswell, though they don't smell very strong. But then that may be because my house is full of the scent of Frankincense oil For me Frankincense is even more Christmassy than Cinnamon, not because of the story with the gold and myrrh just because it is just one of the most beautiful smells. Expensive though, £10 a bottle for proper Boswellia Carterii Frankincense

You are shure to have a good time, despite your problems.
As for me, Christmas always was a great holyday for me. But this year, if I install an Internet at home, it will be doubleholiday for me (Oh man! I've been waiting for SO LONG!!!).

I'm already have a holiday spirit And I know that every thing will be allright. The same I wish to you all=)

Oooooh...I have returned from the annual hotel staff Christmas party. I was forced to go and dance on the dance floor, some freak was taking pictures of some of the women's breasts to make a calendar and he got a shot of mine, and I drank maybe a little too much wine. Am feeling delightfully woozy now...

God, I wouldn't even know where to buy Frakincense. That's like a lost ancient Anglo-Saxon tradition to us North Americans. To me, the smell that most reminds me of Christmas is the smell of pine indoors, from the Christmas tree. But everyone is different.

Oh and Termie, woah!!! on the x-mas staff party. hope it was fun.

Go Termie, you sound like you had a lot of fun!! Yaya for getting up and dancing, you're more brave than me

Oooh the smell of pine, that's a good Christmas smell. Though I have to make do with the bottled essence form, got no pine logs in the Leeds slums

Um lemme see they sell the essential oil of Frankincense (so it's proper stuff) in health food shops. For Christmas I like to mix orange, cinnamon, pine or sandalwood, and frankincense. My house smells like a church!
