Shows that should have never been canceled (or, at least, should still play on T.V. for kids...)
- Wishbone
- Magic School Bus
- Arthur
- Reading Rainbow
- Adventures of Tin-Tin
- GUTS
- Secrets of the Hidden Temple
- Double Dare
- ReBoot
- Beast Wars: Transformers
- Sailor Moon (Yes, I freaking watched it. It OWNED at the time.)
- Mobile Suit Gundam - 08th MS Team (Or any Gundam except Seed or SD.)
- Dragonball
- Dragonball Z (Though it annoys me nowadays.)
These were the shows I was raised watching. And obviously, they had some impact on how smart I am, as I was immediately placed in advanced classes as soon as I started public school in the FIRST GRADE.

Yessss I knew anime made people smart!!!
Here are my non-Disney good shows, I still watch some of them sometimes-
Cities Of Gold (the first ever anime I watched, and still the best)
Thundercats
She-Ra and He-Man
Dragonball Z
Pokemon (heheheh that show got me out of bed in the morning)
The many Mario and Sonic cartoons (the older ones were best)
Earthworm Jim
Swamp Thing
Spiderman
Ok I know there's a lot of boyish ones there, but as much as I loved My Little Pony it just never had the excitement of Thundercats....

I think what makes anime make its viewers so intelligent is that American kids aren't normally used to watching shows that require so much thought and memory as you watch it. The storylines carry over vast numbers of episodes. And, hell, Japanese kids are some of the smartest kids in the world!
I find it funny that Japanese Cartoons are more thought-provoking and less formulaic, to me, than an episode of C.S.I. or other Adult American Dramas on T.V.
