Default Canada or not?

Okaies my dad's FINALLY leaving the navy after 20 grueling years (missed most of my birthdays ....more cake for me then..tehe) and he's faced with the task of buying a house.
When he leaves he is given a BIG FAT CHECK of about 45,000, which some will be spent on our life-time promised trip, touring america.
Anyway he has been looking into the housing market with my mother since chrisrmas time and has announced that they are seriously looking at a place in Canada...

I was just wondering wether anyone has had any experiences of Canada and would either recommend it or indefidently slate it...

Apparently Canada is really nice, some people say more so than America. I've never been myself, but my family have and they say even the dirt there is clean. Puts Britain to shame *_*

Well Canada is a very large country. So there are many different areas you can choose from when looking at moving here. And there are two languages. We have a lot of rural area, but we have many cities as well. So your options are open.

Oh, and in a lot of ways we are very much like Americans, but trust me we are much more different than you believe. It's a nice place to live.

Although originally from France, I have lived in Canada for most of my life.

There is a lot of space, many rural areas as MF said, but you also have your huge metropolis like Montréal, and yes two spoken languages.

I think it is less crowded then America, and has a lot of nice scenery. Plus, free health insurance! XD
