Rant: I'm Tired, I'm Busy, and...

My family is a bunch of nutcases... I found this out on the funeral trip... The worst were my uncle and aunt. Both of them had been nowhere NEAR my grandfather for a good 10+ years. Then they act all sorrowful, go up to Pittsburgh to go to the funeral, and want to break out the will before my granddad's even in the f***ing ground!

Talk about disrespectful... Then they make my dad (who they made organize EVERYTHING) feel guilty for not wanting to bring it up until a later date because they kept brow-beating him... Even worse... They only did it when my mom was away because they KNEW she would speak her mind. And then when my sister was informed about their plottingd and told them to stop messing with our dad. My uncle's reply was 'is that a threat?' as if he was above taking sensible advice on showing respect. And after that, he carried this demeanor like he was going to get us back somehow for trying to be calm and polite.

It's just annoying... Too much freaking drama...

(Yes, I'm back, though, as the title states, I'm busy with things.)

Gah, funerals...always such the parade of pretences...I hate those things. Not only is it superficial, but always the congregating grounds for vultures and parasites...as they say, 'tis quite evident then, that a dead man is worth so much more then a live one.

I know what it feels like to have these sort of people hover around you like flies, and I hope such is of no insult...but tell yourself that the more aggressive those with intent of gains are, it usually means that the deceased's will is rather solid, and that they know it there is not much they can do but follow what is inscribed. Of course a will is often flexible, but you do require some money and a good lawyer.

Of course, I realize that the legalities of the matter are not what bothers you in the end...it certainly makes one rethink their definition of the word ''family''.
