Humans- Do we have a purpose?

This is one of the most interesting questions ive asked but no ones answered. Do humans have a purpose in life?

Some people believe our purpose is to be born and eventually die. Some people believe we're here to look after the Earth(which we aren't doing). Some people think tht these ideas are stupid. we are here because we're here.

What do you think?

I do believe that anyone who has ever even read one half of any post I produce within these halls will anticipate what I am going to say...so, I do not think that I shall say it.

I think there was a thread exactly like this here a while ago though, but as I am too lazy to look for it, I will merely say that even so, I am curious to see what everyone else shall have to say.

I'm still working on figuring that one out. Over the other discussions I've touched on so many theories- that we are alien hybrids put on this earth as an experiment (kinda like intergalactic BB), that we are wandering souls who must learn several lessons over several reincarnations, or there is Termie's theory... no I won't spoil that one for you!!

As many times as we think we know the answer, the same amount of times we have it shot down in flames, there's always a reason why what we believed to be true is not. But maybe these ups and downs are just part of life, and probably not the purpose of it, just a by-product. Zotar's theory could be correct, Termie's could, but we may never find out.

So maybe the purpose of life is not to know what life is all about? If it is, then that bloody sucks!! (and not in a cool vampire way).

we are here because because we are a stage in the evolution and we descend from monkeys...
but if you want to know WHY are we here I must say : we are here because nature and destiny entwined and made it to happen that we exist
we are here because evolution has made us fully adapt to this world
if this world was slightly different we would have never existed

You could always argue that someone of something must have made us and brought us here for something. There are many religions throughout the world. surely one must be right? or if nature created the big bang to happen to create us then what created nature?

To me, religions and beliefs are a manifestation, probably one of the closest one asides from our behaviour and perceptions thereof in regards to what society asks of us, of our human nature.

The traits and conclusion which make such aspects, even though, as mentioned before can never be proven, does indeed show that these are all things we have created, and I believe that mankind creates out of necessity.

For example, if art is the manifestation of our emotions and what it means to be human, then it is a callout to to let know what we feel and perceive, because having it all bottled in impedes a normal and healthy progress through life.

What makes this rather subtle is that folks may not realize, as mean and unthoughtful as it may sound, that our societies also need school shootings, child abuse or racism. Everything fits in a cycle, and every part of this cycle makes fuel the next.

It seems simple to me that we are here for the same reasons as animals are; to take up a part of the ecology so to speak, and tend to it via subconscious commends; we only live in order to live.

And why? That is the harder reason, and I would not know where to even begin...mostly because of several factors. Whatever it is which decides this progress, is it even sentient? Is it even one thing? Or rather, are we like some sort of collective cosmic anomaly?

I believe that the planet and all on it are in sort of ''harmonious'' state, meaning that we cannot live without all included and all which occurs. The idea of a cycle is given to me by my own desires and fears, the necessities needed to rectify them and my perception thereof, all the way to the sort of fish some penguins might need to feed on in order to live in a certain area. I believe that to understand, translation is one major key, among others.

I would inquire elaboration upon the following, if you do not mind...because in the most literal sense, science and spirituality are things that do not mix, and both show facets of the manifestations of which I speak...but perhaps there is a transition you had meant which I have fail to comprehend?

I am a man of science but I believe in ghosts and the super natural
like some things can be explained rationally and some things must be kept a secret.

But remember, we may not have a concrete explanation to explain ghosts and the like, should they exist, but this does not mean that whatever explains them is irrational, or a ''secret''. We just do not know, and because we cannot explain something, it does not make it unreal, although it automatically seems to be considered something to cast aside with ignorance.

This is another thing which underlines the idea of denial and delusion, which we seem to need when power is out of our reach.

But I am always willing to consider that spiritual matters may have a scientific underlining.

When people did not know that the earth was round, they thought that the edge of the world awaited those who would to come near it, and be swallowed by the abyss...science has proven this wrong today, and perhaps we will laugh at the mysticism given to ghosts and God today, in some centuries from now...
