Possible Re-Release onto PS3 or other Console?

What do you guys think about the possible remake for one of the most succesful PlayStation agmes of all time? I think FFVII will be released again, and onto the PS3, either this christmas or sometime in 2008.

Absolutely no way.

I don't rule it out in the far future, and I suppose if they did it and did it RIGHT I wouldn't have a problem, but it really doesn't look like they're even thinking about it at the moment. As soon as they released the tech demo everyone went a bit mental, they're busy making Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII, FF4 DS, Dissidia, Tactics A2, Crisis Core and other games in the Final Fantasy XIII series (Fabula Nova Crystilla or whatever its called)

If it pleases the Court...they are also working an a Final Fantasy IV remake for the PSP...in 3-D! (Like the Final Fantasy III remake on DS.)

After that, I do hope they make a remake of Final Fantasy VI of the same nature.

I would like to see a remake of Final Fantasy VII as well though. However I believe the tech demos were only that; show off material for the PS3 hardware.

Inevitable then, it would be that rumours would to be created, and assumptions as well. Why would they make a demo for this game with no intention of remaking it? This is what I had heard, and still do to this day, so many times.

Either way, if they ever do, it would be fun if they included some of the rumours which riddled the original game. Not necessarily the countless said methods of reviving Aerith, but some others were interesting, and almost plausible.

And he's right, and as funny as it sounds for me to say SE has better things to do than siphen yet more life out of FFVII, it's still the truth. We also had this discussion before, and there has been at least two other threads prior to this one, so let me break it down for you one more time: IT WAS JUST A TECH DEMO.

Not even FFXIII will make it out that soon, that's just crazy talk. The Demo was a teaser, it was a hint at the possibilty, a showcase for the PS3...it was a brilliant idea that was only implemented in order to gain the necessary hype SE and Sony wanted. Why? Did you SEE the PS3 release? Have you played any of its games? You have a better chance of being bitten by a radioactive spider than playing an FFVII remake for the PS3 anytime soon.
