well....i suppose it was ok...but i really did prefer 7 and 8 much much more.
The storytlines were just...well...better...and the characters....but i suppose it wasn't too bad................

Yeah! FF9 was great fun. Much more of a 'true FF' than FF8. FF8 troubled me a little...

Only thing with FF9 was that it lacked a good story compared to other FFs. Had FF9 had the plot consideration of 8, that would have made a quality, quality game (mm, FF7, anyone? )

FF9 didnt get the credit it deserved, its tied with FF7 for fave FF game for me, great story, so many great aspects, it was truely a great FF game.
The storyline was especially good in some ways.

Final Fantasy IX was an actual FF, FF7 and FF8 were too high-tech. They went past the meaning of "Fantasy", unlike FFIX which actually went back to FF root's, it is really underrated for a game that is so good.
I think the only reason so many people call it rubbish is because ton's of people do, and they don't want to be left from the crowd.

I do think FF8 and 7 were great FF games, but I totally agree with that.

I loved FFIX. I really did. I thought the story was good. The graphics were stunning at the time. However, I do feel VIII has a much stronger story. The first time I finished 8, I thought it was better than 7. Then reality hit me...!!

IX is cool. I liked the way the job system was re-introduced. It certainlly does feel more like an original FF game because of this. I liked the direction that 7 and 8 went but I do think that 9 is far too underrated.

ffix was actually the first ff i bought, i really liked it and can't understand why it is so underated, maybe because it didn't have a "cool" villian with a massive sword! Yeah i really enjoyed ix it was better than vii and viii because it was so old skool.I really liked the fact that vivi looked rather like the old black mage of ffi it was nostalgic! It had a good storyline and the characters were great, vivi was amazing and kuja was pretty cool, better than certain villians *cough sepiroth cough* Sorry i can't help sniping ffvii because it irratates me to hell! bleh what can i say ix was a helluva lot better than vii and just better than viii

In my opinion Final Fantasy was the best. Now it was the first one that I played so I might be a bit bias, but I loved it. The storyline and more midevil (however you spell that) and I liked the castles and especially the way weapons give you this ability, enough exp. you earn it. I liked it better than materia, and Vivi was awesome.
