yeah so that would do 5,555 damage, which would then counter with a KOTR, which would restore full life.

Are you sure?
I remember fighting Emerald and it doing 9,999hp damage to my Red13 who only had 5 Materia equipped.
Although I'll double-check that soon. |

It depends on the people who are alive I believe. For everyone tha tis alive you calculate all the materia and that's how much damage is delt. I'm not sure about this though. Usually though you should go into this fight alone with the other 2 members dead
