Default Getting Seriously Narked Now...

Kaz Hirai, president of Sony-

"Thanks for 10 great years. The best is yet to come."

What is this you ask? It's a post-it attached to a poster reading FINAL FANTASY VII. What does it mean? I think they're trying to get more speculation going for the PS3 FFVII remake. There was apparently a release date on 1up.com stating November 1, 2008. I went to check it out, indeed it is there, an update dated 9/19/2007, I completely missed it before. It talks about an unlockable movie at the end of Crisis Core, which of course gives me yet another reason to pine after that game. But the supposed release date is quite a mystery, as it seems unrelated to the article.

I'm sorry, but all this is really pushing me to the brink. I know there are other games worthy of remake that don't get half the attention of this, I'll gladly discuss that later. But all these cheeky hints, denials and then taking back denials, is it really all worth it to get fans into a stupid state? Obviously Square Enix know what they are doing, they just seem to get a lot of fun out of knowing the fans DON'T know what they are doing...

It's starting to really wear thin. If there is going to be a remake, they should just hurry up and announce it properly. It's just not fair to get people's hopes up and down like that.

Phew, rant over...

I think the "unlockable" movie that you are referring to from Crisis Core is nothing more than this crappy little added scene where Genesis sees some winged-summon thingy and gets blown up to bitties, haha. It's lame. It's like that secret ending to DoC with Gackt. It tells you nothing and is usually nothing even close to worth the effort in achieving. Jus look at it free online on youTube, I've seen it there.

Oh, and I think the signed poster of which this post is based was done during Square/Enix's "FFVII Tenth Anniversary Gallery" party they had in Japan earlier this year. They had an exibit displaying the conseptual art and design details of the Final Fantasy VII storyline. It was a big thing in VG news, well in Japan it was anyways. Lot's of high-profile VPs.

Interesting post tho... I hope they do make a remake.

Pah, it's probably my own fault that I get angry about these things!

It doesn't help that I've been hearing lots of different stories in other places aswell. There was the article in GameSpot claiming that FFVII will be released for the DS this month, which is bizarre if it is true, and completely absurd. Also people on other forums claim they know this and that through word of mouth, but there's never anything solid to back up their claims. I heard from one guy that his manager said they have started the PS3 remake just recently, apparently all getting into a boardroom and throwing ideas around. But no evidence!! (please please please let it be true though!!!!)
