Can someone explan to me the story to final fantasy 7? I saw the movie and i think i sort of get most of it but i still need to know more specifics.

Here you go. IT's long though

Theres this orginization called ShinRa which sucks mako (a type of energy) out of the planet. They have this army called SOLDIER (yes in all capitals) which keeps the people believing that if they keep the mako reactors then ShinRa will protect them. The Top ranked officer named Sephiroth dissappeard after a mission to nibelhem. Cloud (the main character) quit being a soldier after that same mission he went on with sephiroth. Sephiroth went insane after finding out that he was 'produced' by a mako experiment in a reactor. He thinks that an alien named Jenova is his mother, (everyone thought she was an ancient or... cetra but she wasn't) and she tells him to practically destroy the planet to get to the promised land ( a land promised to the cetra). When he went insane he destroyed the city of nibelhem which was Cloud's hometown and killed everyone except I think a few people. So Cloud finds out Sephiroth is alive and wants revenge. of course RPG's are never that easy so you have to do all this stuff to get to the final battle with sephiroth...

I got that from someone who then told me to look it over and then I said it was good

I'm wondering if you could perhaps eximplify what parts of the story you're having trouble with. It's kinda hard to give some specifics of the story (especially without major spoilers) if we don't know what you're having trouble grasping.

Bacially I know the stuff with the Jenova and stuff. What I really want to know is the issue with Zack. isn't Zack's memories stuck in Cloud or something like that?

The part of the story you're questioning about is kinda ambiguous. Many fans will interpret that part of the story differently. There are several main schools of thought.

One, for instance, is that Cloud subdued his own memories and took on the memories of Zack as a psychological defense mechanism, something similar to delusions of grandeur or the like.

I'm sure some of the people on this board can pipe in with their various interpretations, would be fun to see all of this stuff dredged up again.

i never really got that part of the story i thought it was more zach was a friend in soldier who died and cloud then carried his buster sword as a mark if respect

Doesn't Zack fight Sepheroth though and like loses to him or something like that?

[SPOILERS

Zack actually didn't die against Sephiroth.....I think.
There are instances where Cloud takes Zack's sword and where he supposedly dies,
1. The reactor in Nibelheim where Sephiroth throws Zack out of the Jenova room.
2. In a flashback in Nibelheim (after you've been in Clouds memories).

So this proves that Zack actually didn't die against Sephiroth, but was just injured.

The reason Cloud has Zacks memories is because Hojo inserted Zacks memories into the Cloud, which is explained in the Flashback.
And Cloud takes Zacks sword as a sign of respect, just like he places it back where Zack died, which is shown in the opening scene in the movie.

Holy Crap now I get that part of the movie! Thanks! Another question i have is whats the deal with Cloud. Was he actually a high ranked SOLDIER or just some newb that was friends with a high ranked soldier? And also is the sword in the movie the same sword he used to defeat Sepheroth?
