Default Your favorite Battle System...

Between the last few FF installations, what would you say was your favorite battle system?

I really loved FFVIII's draw system; it was something new. And I actually enjoyed scouting the world out for the really rare magic.

As much as I loved FFIX, I thought that the trance system kind of sucked. The trance abilities weren't all that fantastic.

I love ff7's materia becuz anybody can summon but with ff8 you can't have multiple copies of each summon and becuz materia in ff7 cud grow you cud create more materia and sell it

I liked FF8's but the downside was that I felt it made me use magic less.

I would say my favorite all around was Final Fantasy X's. The strategic elements involved (it wasn't based on ATB) was kinda nice. I like ATB, but sometimes it kind of gets on my nerves.

Final fantasy 7 and 10 are the best. The materia levels rock and i agree with saix that creating new materia by maxing out the current one and sell it. The battle system rocks, and thats the memories I like.

Final fantasy 10 rocked with leveling summons, the downside of leveling summons is that you have to use items to level their stats and new moves, which is very annoying. The battle system rock with changing character in the battle, and the overdrive rocked.

Final fantasy 8 didn't really feel like a final fantasy, the battle system was meh, but collecting magic items to use them, I think I go with the mp using of magic.

But ffx-2 didn't feel like a final fantasy, because there was no summons. that really sucked.

So, ff8 and ffx-2 sucked, ff7 and ff10 rocked.

I really liked FFX's battle system because I liked how didn't have to wait to perform moves. I liked FFVII too especially the materia but I have to disagree that FFVII was a bad game. I really liked the Draw system of FF8 but I thought the Junction System was lame but in the end it still was a great game. FFX-2 was okay but nothing special. I liked that you could do stuff like mix without being in overdrive and the Dark Knight dressphere was tight. The things I missed though that made FFX such a good game were the cool characters like Auron, having more playable characters and now having a stupid percentage completion. The story was okay but it is so tedious to try get 100%. I had to play through it three times. But I'll probably like the FFXII system because there are now random battles and that you also are able to move around and swarm an enemy.
