MAJOR SPOILERS

I liked it. It was the first Final Fantasy to include a REAL love story (FFVII's was kinda left up to the imagination). Certain story elements were... less than ideal however (we all grew up in the same orphanage etc).

By the way, you need to edit your profile to get those "pretty pictures". To make them move the pictures have to be in an animated format, such as Animated GIF. If you dont know jack shit about making images, then that probably means nothing to you.

I love this game, it was so much fun and i love the scenes with squall and rinoa so sweet.

I loved it. For me it was an emotional roller coaster based on Squall and Rinoa's love story, it was so sweet. ^^

.... How in the HELL is Squall better in Kingdom Hearts? He was like a totally different character. "Leon". Psh. That was just a way of saying, "LOOK GUYS, A FF8 CHARACTER IS HERE, buuut I've modified his personality to make him far less cool and mysterious."

The whole point of the character of "Squall" was to have a temultuous character with conflict going on in his head. Leon was just your average black and white character with no real uniqueness. I hated him. And I hate the person who put "Leon" in Kingdom Hearts. They should have left him well enough alone. Goddamned money making bastards.

I actually loved Final Fantasy VIII a lot more then most of the other ones.

Not much so for the plot, but for the type of gameplay it offered, and things to accomplish on the side. I especially enjoyed the Junction System. Many did not think it was so much of use, but I was able to make some pretty decent combinations, which added a nice sort of strategic element to the battles. (That is until I obtained some Meltdown draws anyways..) The only thing I missed was purchasing weapons...I have no idea, I just love collecting weapons.

The story was good as well, but as DragoonKain said, sometimes some bits were rather out of place, like the orphanage thing, (Not that it has much to do with it, but to me the relationships of the characters, past and present, sort of felt like Archie meets Final Fantasy...) or in my opinion, Ultimecia messing up space and time...one would think they could have made such a thing a bit more on the ominous side..you know, more real. The whole thing seemed like...hey, the whole world just got messed up somehow!!!...meh.

But overall, it was great. The first time I played, I spent 16 hours straight with the game..I missed my supper, and my father left it on the stove..,so at seven in the morning, I ate some cold rice and chicken straight out of the pots, heh.

Oh..and Seifer.

The character were great in personality, even if some things were odd at times.

Character wise this game had an excellent selection of different personalities. I enjoyed the storyline don't get me wrong and yes it was messed up in certain areas but the thing that turned me off was the junction system, the gameplay, and the way the monsters levelled up with your characters making them harder to defeat. It took me two years to beat this game. I hate it when people say this one was the best one. Personally I think it comes in near the end of the final fantasy food chain. If they could have just lef the gameplay alone then i believe in my book it would have succeeded. Yet then again Square had to experiment with the gameplay. I don't hate the game i just don't want to play it more than once. Once was enough for me.
