Zell vs. Seifer

Seifer is too driven by emotion to be a decent fighter, Zell learns through the game to control his weaknesses like anger and fear, Seifer relies on his hatred and following his dream to win, while Zell being the true SeeD relies on better emotions - this theme is common enough in most fantasy and science fiction the obvious best example being the Jedi/Sith story in Star Wars where Jedi rely on skill and determination to do good for others while Sith fight from emotion and self preservation.

You know you said about the Jedi and the Sith...am I wrong in saying that the Sith were actually the better fighters?
If you think of it like this: Zell=Jedi Seifer=Sith
Like I said, the Sith are better fighters and would beat the Jedi/Zell.

No the Sith are not better fighters, simply due to their nature - heres an example in a ff8 context -

In star wars the Sith are constantly plotting against each other - Darth Sidious plotted to have count dooku killed at the hands of anakin to unleash his dark side, Darth Vader wanted Luke to join him to rule the galaxy as father and son, essentially toppling the empeor, even the emperor himself wanted Luke to kill his father Dartn Vader to join the darkside. The Sith are torn apart by constant plotting, murder and distrust, they fight only for themselves while the Jedi rely on each other and the trust and love they have for comradeship leads to their power dominating the Sith in the long run - Sith and Jedi combat levels rely soly on personal skill - Darth Maul killed the jedi Quigon in the first one, Obi wan killed the sith darth maul, Mace Windu (Jedi) nearly kills darth sidious just as sidious nearly kills Yoda - you see my point

In a ff8 context, Zell is a weal character to begin with, too insecure, reaction with anger to all of seifers insults, but he learns to trust others and values their friendship, theis he loses his insecrity as no-one is plotting against him and becomes a strong fighter capable of over coming such emotion. Seifr on the other hand is constanlty worried that he'll lose the parental love of the socress, he fights you twice to defend Edea at the end of disc 2, willing embraces the love of Ultimica, cause he relies on emotion too much, and its his downfall.

my point is that some sith are better then some jedi and and some jedi are better then some sith, its all about personal skill in combat and nothing to do with being a sith or jedi, agreed off topic but thats my point -

But seriously..They're evenly matched until Seifer uses magic. But Zell can do.
The simple way is to take them into battle against seifer, with the two minus Zell dead. Then see who wins,
