Hmm, I disagree, GF's are essential at this stage.
Here:
Make sure that one of your charecters DRAW's Siren immediately, preferbly Zell.
Have Squall Junction Quazacotl, and his commands, GF, Magic and Draw.
Have Zell Junction Ifrit, and his commands, DRAW, GF and ITEM.
Have Selphie Junction Shiva, and her commands, Draw, magic, and Item.
Use charecters Limit Breaks when their health gets low, especially Squall's Renzokuken, that really helps, even more than GF's.
Since Elorvet is very Magic, dont cast any spells you might have except, Cure, to heal YOU, and Double, which can be drawn from Elorvet and cast on your charecters to make your magic more frequent.
Have Zell draw Siren right away, then concentrate on Zell and Squall attacking with GF's.
Leave Selphie to continually draw Cure, so that you can use it if you need health.
Only attack if your GF's are disabled.
