To Tread Upon Stars

I am rather enjoying RPG's lately. Since there arn't many players online though, it is difficult waiting for someone else to post a response. I figured it only appropriate to start another. Being involved in more RPg's at once might alleviate the demand for patience.

This one will be a kind of "Wagon Train to the Stars" sort of thing. Not very original you say? Alright, it is year 2201. Humanity has discovered that by manipulating the Quantum "foam" that binds subatomic particles together, it was possible, with the right kind of energy, to open holes in space, Worm holes, for instantanious transportation across the cosmos. Of course tampering with space is sure to have side effects which is why the experimenting was done in space colonies away from earth.

The technique is unrefined thus far and the only way you can be sure of where the other end of the wormhole will be, and thus where the wormhole will take a travler, is to open one at the destination at the exact moment the hole at the point of origen is opened. So you can't be sure of wherever a Hole will take you unless someone has already been there.

Another curious thing that was discovered by scientists, is that one can communicate across long distances using wormholes on ships and on Earth. So that eliminates the problem of a Comm Lag as a result of light having to travel over ever greater distances of space. This Invention also allows People to travle between ships and Earth through the Holes so that no person spends too much time in a weightless environment, (Artificial Gravity had not been invented save for the centifuges of Space stations.) and that crew members and supplies could be swapped accordingly.

With these advances, at least 20 ships are now traversing the solar system, rather slowly for the most advaced propultion of the age still dos'nt exede light though it is now at least half the speed.

One ship, the Euphrates has gone beyond the reaches of this Solar system and is close to the twin star system of Centuri. Crew members reported sighting a planent that the telescopes of Earth had somehow not detected. The Planet was very similar to Earth... shockingly similar infact. Even as the crew of the Euphrates laid Eyes upon the new planet, the computers detected radiowaves being broadcast from the planet and it's two small moons. The Planet and it's moons, orbiting around the two suns at a distace optimal to support life, was inhabited by life, intellegent life, at a level of technological developement similar to that of Humanitie's.

This RPG starts as the Crew of the Euphrates attempts to contact the denizens below. Some of the Crew membes have been trained well in Telepathy which will assist the communication process.

You will all be equipped with gear.

The story will start as you are waiting in a lobby loaded with equipment and an archway where the Wormhole to the Euphrates will open, you will have time to talk before venturing forth, as none of you know eachother yet. You will have come from differnt professions and will have only just finished training for this mission.
