The new organization is live. It's going to be a little hairy for a while. Mods, if your memories are awesome, feel free to go sticky things that should be stickied. If not, don't worry about it.
I have not finished moving the old stuff in yet. In addition, the old forums are still here, though because of the permanent nature of moving and merging child forums and such, it would be near impossible to roll back to the old forums. We can tweak the new layout to your heart's content though. (Well, until I get sick of changing it, that is.)
So let's begin with Round 2 of feedback, shall we? I have already heard from a bewildered Exile who doesn't like the new 'small' form factor.

Very nice, I like this new setup. It is so much more simple, and accessible. I've no complaints.
What I do find strange is the appearance of certain threads which do not belong in their pertaining sections-however this I believe, mostly, to be the work of posters who just posted anywhere. Which reminds me, you said that you have moved in many old threads back in-but does not this site posses a sort of wastebasket function? As in, an archive? I think that would be a good idea, as a lot of threads are no longer needed, and some are even absurd. If we are to have new people come in (I know this is not the sole intent of this restructuration of course.) it might be a little more appealing for anyone if they did not have to wad through countless weird old threads-it would seem discouraging. But, just an offside suggestion, as I am not wanting to whine about those too much-but I definitely think we should have an archive thing.
Also, I know I was the one who initially complained about it the most...but, in the Final Fantasy section, should we include a sub forum for the spin off games, like Tactics, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus and whatever? I know that earlier today, I have completely said the contrary, but it might actually be a good idea...
And again, while sifting through the forums, I have taken the liberty of physically removing deleted threads; I do not see the point in having the members know specifically why bot threads are gone-I do believe that most people probably do not care, and if somehow, they should, then well, have faith.
I do not think that this will inconvenience anyone? If it does though, please let me know...although in my opinion, it feels like visual rape.
Anyways, nice job Kain, I enjoy the new look, and even more so, the convenience it brings. I do believe that I shall find elsething to moan about later, as I am grumpy and picky, but for the time being, it feels nice and perfect.
Also I really like the new headings which you have included with each section. Nice and stylish.
And oh my God you mentioned Castlevania in the non Final Fantasy games section!!
*Strangles Kain with hug.*

Good job!
It is kinda weird when you first look at it, because it is small, but I like that. it seems much more streamlined.
I agree that there should be an archive for dead and unnecessary threads, there are a lot hanging around with no purpose, and have my name as the last person to post on them!

There's no Archive, per se. There's a function called "Pruning", which is sort of a "Get yo old ass on outta here" kind of thing. It deletes old threads automatically. I don't like the idea of pruning/archiving, as it's not up to me or any of you to decide whether members want to see old stuff or not. I would feel bad if one of our old members wanted to relive some trip down memory lane and try to find something stupid I said a year ago and was unable to find it. (Come to think of it, this might not be such a bad idea...)
The spinoff category: Ahem. erm... well, erm.... that would have been good to impleemnt before I had merged everything into that one category. lol. Uh... I suppose it can be done, but it would require us to go through and individually filter out all of the existing stuff out of the new category. Somebody let me know if they're up to that task.
I have been thinking about an alternative layout scheme that would be a combination of the old layout and the new layout. All of the subforums would be on one page, like the old layout. However, there would be fewer of them, and there would be no sub-sub forums (unlike the last layout, which had tons). So rather than everything being 2 clicks away, everything would be one click away. Let me know if this style would suit you all more.
-Kain
PS: Termies, regular users don't see the deleted threads. Only mods.

Well so I guess the smaller forum is easier to access, but I still say we change the skin somehow. A new skin will bring pazaz(yes I said pazaz) to the forum and draw in new members or even old members. In regards of the KH3 section, that was only there for when the old KH3 forum got a trojan and died, so alex(the admin) sent us here. We can delete the KH3 section, I'm for it. But what we should have is a kh subforum under the final fantasy area because it still deals with final fantasy. The fnal fantasy section should be broken down to a game area and other FF media section for the music and movies. Some moving could be done in the general forum section, like rearranging the subforums. Other then that we need a new skin.

I can't do a new skin, sorry. I don't have the access permissions to upload files.
Also, Alex has been missing for a few weeks. Skins cost money, and quite frankly, Alex probably isn't too keen to throw money down for a new one for a forum he considers mostly dead. We'll have to live with what we have and improve to the best of my abilities.

This is something I have to bring to your attention: all the forum games are missing the only game I can open is the vending machine but that is because that was the last one to be posted in

Oh no, please do not get me wrong; I certainly do not mean to say that we should get rid of any threads whatsoever, no matter what one thinks of them. I just thought an archive, however, was an extra section where the moderators or the administrator could store old threads; people would still be able to view them, if they wished it.
And besides, I enjoy looking at my old threads as well-and seeing the stupid things you said.
Goths with Santa Claus hats, huh? Guess lighted up antlers were not good enough for you!

I could do it.

I truly enjoy this new layout, but if more folks go for your suggestion, I will certainly not be against it. As long as it remains nice and simple!
Before this, it was like blindingly finding one's way in a maze like crypt.

!. Wark. New design...Not used to it yet, but it will probably be better than the old forum/subforum/category/subcategory/thread organization.
2. I, too was thinking of a separate area where threads that have not been posted in for as crertain length of time are automatically sent, rather than having them automatically deleted.
3. cool.
