Well, there are several available options of course. Worst/best newbie, favourite member, least fave member, most helpful, yadda yadda yadda. Hell, we might have to have a vote for the different categories ;D
We're working on an idea for the rewards, too.

Just some more announcements regarding this whole "thing". We have 2 categories narrowed down for sure (it's secret, though). We need 2 more good suggestions. Keep it coming.
Also, I would like to note that I have only gotten 2 PM's regarding people who are interested in being candidates. If I don't get more, I'm either going to a. Not do it or b. Begin making people candidates against their wishes. So start registering!
One more note regarding prizes. I do not wish to make the prize something so cheesy as an image to put in your sig (although this is a possibility as a "in addition to" prize). The prize will NOT include privileges to the forum such as moderator access etc. We are still working out some details behind the awards. We have also not yet determined whether a person may be elligible to win more than one award (out of fairness). If there are enough participants, then hopefully this won't be an issue.
Keep your input coming, and I'll continue with the updates.

We have already decided against doing a best sig/ava contest. The reasons were numerous. If anybody has any issues regarding this decision, please make these known and we could possibly reconsider.

I have a suggestion for some rewards perhaps could be given out.
Say, for example, somebody wins a ''Friendliest User Award'', their user title could be changed to something appropriate, such as...''Forum Hippy!''
Or, simply, allow the winner to change their usertitle to something of their choice.
The only drawback however..well if some moderators win an award, that might not be much fun for them.
