What, we who have read the books yet are neither fanatics nor detractors have no place here? Fine, then, I'll go make a "Harry Potter is neither horrible nor Totally Awesome(TM A Very Potter Musical)" thread 
Liked most of the book series, disliked some or most of the film series. Used to really like it, but got bored of waiting for the next volume to be available. Don't dislike it, probably still like it, just not really a fan any more (in the original sense, anyway, no idea if I'd be considered a fan by the currently accepted but excessively vague meaning of the term).

I find it funny how I was told to persevere through the first books because the last books are much darker and mature and would probably suit my taste a lot more.
However I find all the books after number four to be extremely drab and long winded, with only the last few chapters being any fun to read.
I think the first four were way more fun to read haha, so strange how some things work out.
I do not think this makes me an uber fan, as I will probably never read these again, although I suppose viewing the films is now in order.

I've only read the last book twice, and the second time was to pay more attention and see if it made any more sense. It didn't while reading it, but afterwards more things made sense (though I still cannot remember many things that people talk about online happening in the book).

I watched Half Blood Prince for the first time last night and once you get passed the bad teenage acting it was quite good. Might read the last book again now and leave out that stupid end bit this time.

Well, Gryffindor is much too archetypal and corny, and probably nobody in real life would ever be sent there, unless that place compliments courage based on being too dumb to realize you are in danger.
I am too hardcore and non mediocre to be in Hufflepuff. However, while I am a filthy bitch which should be banished from this forum, I am not conniving or ambitious enough to be in Slytherin, and apparently, I am not intelligent or wise enough for Ravenclaw.
This leaves me with Hagrid, knocking back mead and hatching dragons. Or getting shipped to Durmstrang, one of the other.
